Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles, and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things…
That said, sharing a few key items that I personally use and/or love in the hope that you might too. What is on your favorites list?
1. Warm Clothes
My husband is constantly making fun of me for my sweater, fleece, coat collection, etc. but what can I say other than that I am always cold and love anything that makes me feel warm and cozy! There is also no better way to enjoy the outdoors and this time of year if you are warm. Lastly, dog walking gear. Yes. Nothing like a Patagonia Better Sweater Jacket or nice long puffer coat to keep you warm on a chilly winter day. I tend to follow brands because of quality. Patagonia is one of them.
2. A Glam Faux Fur Coat
My current favorite colors burgundy + camel. Burgundy adds a pop of glamour and camel more mainstream for an everyday look. A faux fur coat always adds a bit “extra” to an outfit as my sister M would say.
3. Black Waterproof Boots
Another go-to brand: Ugg. I have the boots linked below and not only are they warm but waterproof. Great for rain or snow and with the buckles on the side, stylish. I can wear out to a casual dinner or on a dog walk. These are also great travel boots. The inside zipper perfect for easy on/off. If you are interested in the combat boot trend, there are so many good options out there, as well.
4. Slippers
Everyone needs a good pair of slippers. Need I say more? For wintertime, I usually prefer a slipper that has the toes covered.
5. An Everyday Fragrance that is Not Overpowering
I received the Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt as a sample and it is really lovely and interestingly, unisex. Great gift for a friend or a loved one. Love this fragrance!
6. Vitamin C Serum (and/or SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2, or Glycolic 10)
Over 40 skin, then consider adding a Vitamin C serum to your daily regimen. The benefits are well known, including diminishing wrinkles, preventing/correcting sun damage, reducing inflammation, increasing collagen production, to name a few. After I wash my face in the morning, I use the one linked below. (Uses an eye dropper and you only use 5-6 drops for your whole face, store carefully). I have very sensitive skin (dry, rosacea prone, as well as sensitive to chemicals) so switched to the SkinCeuticals brand about a year ago and have not looked back. The products, in my experience, have been very high quality and most importantly do not irritate my skin. The triple lipid restore cream has a combination of ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids – great for dry winter skin but not oily. I also use the Glycolic 10 overnight cream every few days as my face can be quite sensitive to exfoliants. I am a proponent of investing in skincare but the amount of products out there is overwhelming.
7. Leggings
I recently picked up the leggings linked below (sized up to a medium for a bit looser fit + camo print) based on rave reviews and seeing a neighbor looking great in these. They come in a variety of colors and prints.
8. A Good Mascara
I have tried several brands and this is my favorite. Great color, does not flake, and seems to condition my lashes. An easy way to look refreshed without a full face of makeup.
Thanks for stopping by,
