Sweet meets tough. The perfect mixture, right? I certainly think so. Style, like one’s personality, is often a mixture. My personal style, I hope, on one hand reflects all things feminine, classic, and timeless. On the other hand, there is my equestrian and outdoorsy upbringing and background. The former, a product of my longtime love of fashion, especially red nails, faux fur, ruffles, and dresses. The latter, a product of growing up on a small farm and years of spending time outside as a 4-H’er and Pony Clubber, which means that I also love clothes that are comfortable, useful, and practical. In the spirit of planning for vacations, this outfit is perfect to take on a spring/summer trip. This lightweight olive green utility vest has a stand up collar, tons of pockets, and a drawstring cinched waist. I paired with a white henley tee but it would also look great over a casual day dress. I added the green silk bow barette as a nod to my love of all things feminine.
On the day that we shot these photos, it was late afternoon which produced these gorgeous shadows in the background. It was also very windy.
This silk bow barette is the perfect hair accessory to add to an otherwise “practical” outfit. I have in the “emerald” and “pink” colors.
Spring is here! As you can see, the forsythia behind me is almost in full bloom. For me, cowboy boots are a year round essential and perfect for travel as they look great with a number of looks and are super comfortable. I wear cowboy boots with skirts, dresses, and jeans. I also have taken, and more importantly, worn my Lucchese “mad dog” cowboy boots on a number of vacations and worn anywhere from a rehearsal dinner to a horse back ride.
Have a great weekend and thanks so much for reading!
