Historically, my wardrobe did not consist of a number of black and white pieces that I intentionally wore together. However, this summer, I have been drawn to the combination, enjoying the stark and dramatic contrast between the two colors. In addition to combining the colors, I also have enjoyed mixing the two colors with textures such as leather and lace.
The first outfit is a favorite for the summer work week, a clean and classic look, especially with the multi-strand of pearls which is a lovely finishing touch.
Free People She’s A Babe Bodysuit (from Revolve) | (on sale) KENDALL & KYLIE Midi Skirt (from Revolve) | Twisted Pearl Hammock Necklace (from J Crew) | Earrings (Amelia Rose) similar | Perforated TOMs Booties (similar from Nordstrom)
The second outfit combines the B + W combo with both leather & lace. The skirt is quite old and I picked up at a CUSP store many years back. The pleated nature of the skirt adds an additional layer of interest and a flirty aspect. Note: the shirt very reasonably priced and on Amazon. My favorite Stuart Weitzman wedges complete the ensemble. These shoes look amazing with anything from skinny jeans to a summer suit and so comfortable, requiring zero break in time, and perfect for looking good while navigating city streets.
