“There is a shade of red for every woman.” ~Audrey Hepburn. Family and longtime friends know that red is my favorite color. I carried red roses in my wedding bouquet, will always pick a red dress over a black one (or any other color for that matter), and love a great red nail polish (e.g. I’ve Got the Blues for Red, Malaga Wine, Big Apple Red, the list goes on). Red, in my opinion, is a nod to all things feminine, classic, and timeless. Some say that the color red has more personal associations than any other color and encourages action and confidence. Also, red represents beauty in many languages and cultures (e.g. in China, red is associated with good luck and fortune). A nod to my husband, red is the primary color of the Boston Red Sox. Assuredly, it is a beautiful color that is sure to get one noticed. Below, I have included some of my favorite current “red” picks—tops, dresses, swimsuits, shoes, and one of my favorite red lipsticks, included. Click on the photo(s) in the widgets below to shop.
This tie cold-shoulder sweater (now $29.50) also comes in a pretty heather oatmeal color. (See “shop the post” below for more details).
Fresh blooms.
